It’s rare that a piece of software comes a long that really wow’s you like DubTurbo did for me. I have been in the music business for many years, and I have reviewed and used probably hundreds of different music producing programs. DubTurbo is the best beat maker program on the market.

I want to begin this review with a quick story. I am pretty active in the music industry. I have produced and managed many successful groups, but I am now retired. About 6 months ago I met a gentleman at a music production conference that claimed he was very talented but had next to no money for equipment.

I told this gentleman about DubTurbo. He said he had tried beat makers and other music creation programs online and did not have any confidence that it would work. Sure, DubTurbo does not replace a real studio that required tens of thousands of dollars to set up, but it really is the next best thing.

I told him to go home and download DubTurbo just to give it a shot. I didn’t hear from him for a while. About 4 months later he calls me up and says he just scored his first record deal, and could not have done it without DubTurbo.

DubTurbo is POWERFUL. There are enough bells and whistles on this beautiful program to keep you occupied for months!

Interface

DubTurbo is slick looking and navigating the program is very easy. It is a very simple point and click interface. You can actually use a virtual keyboard to control the program. You can do many things when using the keyboard (trigger sounds, play keys/drum pads, and lot’s of shortcuts to navigate easily without having to click all the time – for a producer this is important during their production session.)

The main features are 16 tracks to lay down sounds – either drums, keys, or mic. A fully functioning four octave keyboard to do bass rhythms, chords, or anything you want. Also has a drum machine sequencer with 10 pads, and the best thing is that you can edit each individual sound and even import your own.

Quality/Learning Curve

One thing that is certain about DubTurbo is that you are going to be getting a high quality product. You can tell the creator of this program put a lot of TLC into it. He has a very deep music background and it shows in the program. I have found programs that were created by computer nerds instead of music producers and the results were typically a very hard to use program.

You’re gong to be able to jump right into DubTurbo no matter what skill level you are. Even if your just getting it for entertainment purposes, you will be very happy with it.

The best part about it being easy to use is the quality it produces. This program does not spit out MP3 files (typically low quality) it actually makes WAV files. The music you produce with DubTurbo is going to have the professional studio sound, but without all the cost.

There’s no need to let a lack of technical knowledge hold you back from unleashing your creative potential and making the killer ideas in your head come to life for the world to enjoy. This beat maker program is set up with keyboard short cuts so that once you get the hang of it (which is easy), you can be creating tracks in record times.
